Hi, I'm Dusty.
I grew up in Los Angeles, California, where I developed a love for baseball, warm weather and thrift stores.
I gravitated toward jobs in the helping professions working with youth, and realized counseling was the career choice for me. Leaving Southern California for the Pacific Northwest, I earned a Master's degree from Southern Oregon University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Looking to expand my professional exposure, I moved to Hawai'i where I worked with teens, young adults and their families. I developed a deep appreciation for the Big Island, its people, land and culture.
A desire to maximize my efforts in helping people to navigate and overcome both internal and external barriers, I moved to Boise, Idaho to pursue doctoral training. I hold a Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Counseling from Idaho State University, and am thankful for the people I got to meet there (including my partner :).
We are now located in Seattle, where I teach counselors-in-training at a local university. I am excited to offer telemental health counseling services, which offers the flexibility and accessibility to work with folks located anywhere in Idaho or Washington State. In our self-care time, we're usually hiking, camping, or doing something active in natural spaces.
I'm happy to expand on more things about me, and I hope to have the opportunity to meet and learn about you.
